Education

B.F.A. in Illustration; May 1991, Hartford Art School, University of Hartford; West Hartford, Connecticut.
M.F.A. in Sequential Art; May 2003, Savannah College of Art and Design; Savannah, Georgia.
Skills & Software Thirteen years of professional Graphic art experience, including graphic design and illustration, website creation and maintenance, mock ups, digital photography, scanning and 3D rendering. Extensive knowledge of PhotoShop, Illustrator, Quark Xpress, and MacIntosh computers. Additional knowledge of InDesign, Acrobat, DreamWeaver, GoLive, Infini-D, PageMaker, Streamline, and Freehand on Mac OS X and Mac Classic.
Experience

May 2006 - current: Creative (Computer Teacher), The Apple Store. Instruction on use of computer software, ranging from basic operation to professional photo and video editing. Strengths include ability to convey information to users of all levels and put students at ease while learning. Specialties include PhotoShop, Final Cut Pro, Aperture, Illustrator, InDesign, Apple Mac OS X and Apple software packages.

September 2000 - current: Freelance Graphic Artist. Graphic design, production, illustration and website design, on-site and off-site. Clients include Sandler & Recht Communications, Scienta, Designing Solutions, Sperry & Associates, Lulu Press, Eismann & Associates, Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance, Chapel Hill Press, and Robertson Markowitz Advertising.

January 2000 - September 2000: Graphic Designer, CheckerBee Publishing. Design of book covers, books, products and displays. PhotoShop 5.5, Illustrator 8, Quark Xpress 4.04, and Digital Photography.

July 1999 - December 1999: Freelance Graphic Designer, Amerifit Nutrition. Design and production of magazine ads, brochures, logos, packaging, sell sheets, and trade show pieces, and preparation of files for output, as well as 3-D rendering of products. Infini-D 4.5, Quark Xpress 4.04, Illustrator 8, and PhotoShop 5.5, Acrobat and Streamline 3.0.1 on MacIntosh computers.

May 1996 - June 1999: Graphic Designer, Interplex Electronics. Design and production of all projects, website design and maintenance, pricing and scheduling with printers, and preparation of files for final output. Design projects included magazine advertisements, posters, sell sheets, brochures, catalogs, logo design, business cards, letterhead and manuals. Quark Xpress, PageMaker, Illustrator, and PhotoShop on MacIntosh computers.

June - October 1996: Part Time Graphic Designer, Specialized Packaging. Assisted in design for food packaging. Quark Xpress, Illustrator, PhotoShop, and Freehand on MacIntosh computers.

April 1993 - February 1996: Computer Artist (Senior Computer Artist, Oct. 1995 to Feb. 1996), Mercer Mayer Productions/Big Tuna Trading Company. Computer Coloring of black and white line artwork. PhotoShop, Illustrator, and Quark Xpress on MacIntosh computers. Involved with the production of thirty-three books between April 1993 and February 1996.
